Tour Plan

Day 01 Starting Nairobi Hotel/Airport to Masai Mara National Reserve

(Appx: 265kms – 5-6 hrs.)

We’ll head out early – pick up very early morning at your residential hotel or airport to ensure plenty of time in the park. As the sun breaks over the African fields, we’ll stop in the town of Narok and take in the dawning light over breakfast. Then it’s on to the Masai Mara where we’ll arrive mid-morning.

Journeying into the Mara with its broad savannah accented with signature acacia trees, you’ll be looking upon one of the world’s premier viewing spots. Here is the greatest density of lions in Kenya and a healthy population of the other Big Five game as well.

Here, too, is the site of the Great Migration, where millions of roaming creatures cross over from the Serengeti in a cycle that has repeated endlessly since time began.

Overnight

Dinner and overnight at safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Day 02 Relax Full day Masai Mara National Reserve with game drives

Enjoy your breakfast and get ready for a full day of unlimited game viewing. We’ll traverse the grasslands and hills on our way to the Mara River.

This is the site of the great crossing, where the migrating herds come in search of taller grasses. It’s also where crocodiles lie in wait – we’ll see them and hippos as well.

In all, there are over 90 species of mammals in this great ecosystem, all waiting to be discovered by you.

NOTE the great migration happens between July– October

Overnight

Dinner and overnight at safari lodge / tented camp of your choice.

Day 03 Masai Mara National Reserve to Amboseli National Park

(520 km – Approx.8- 9 Hrs.)

We’ll have an early breakfast before heading out to Amboseli.

The drive is long today!

We’ll arrive in Amboseli in time for a late afternoon game drive. After all the drama of the Mara, you’ll appreciate the calm, steady procession of free-ranging elephants, marching before the stately backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

If we’re lucky, the cloud cover will break around this evening to reveal Kilimanjaro’s famous and photogenic snow-capped peak.

Overnight

Overnight at a safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Day 04 Relax Amboseli National park Full Day with game drives

We’ll start the day off viewing the animals as they first awaken and come into the clearings, seeking their first meal of the day. Then, it’s our turn for breakfast.

You can relax now or go on a mid-morning game drive. Or both. You set the pace for the day, and we’ll adjust accordingly.

Amboseli is also a wonderful park for viewing large games like lion, cheetah, hyena, impala, and giraffe. The park is not big so there’s a good chance we’ll have some wonderful game viewing.

Your lunch awaits. Followed by more game drives. And, as always, you set the pace.

Overnight

Overnight at your Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 05 End Tour Amboseli National Park to Diani/Mombasa Beach Hotel

(400 km – Approx. 7 hrs. with lunch stop)

It’s an early rise again, and hopefully, the clouds will break at the peak of Kilimanjaro, revealing its snowy crown. Dining at your camp or lodge before a delicious safari breakfast, you can take in the splendor of Africa’s largest peak overlooking the park.

We’ll enjoy one final game drive in Amboseli again looking for the big game and the smaller forms of hyena, fox, monkey, and baboon. The park is a virtual city of wildlife.

But now we’re off, heading to the Kenya coast.

Drop off.

On the way back, we’ll make stops to rest, stretch, and have lunch.

As we are heading to your resort or hotel, you’ll gaze at the passing countryside, with thoughts of the marvelous animal sightings that have filled the past three days. By late afternoon or early evening
