Waterfalls, rainforests, and mist-shrouded mountains that’s the wonderland you’ll find at Aberdare National Park, north of Nairobi. You’ll overnight up in a tree hotel with views of a local watering hole, hosting elephant, buffalo, and antelope, amongst others. A truly unique slice of Kenya.
We’ll head on through the Great Rift Valley to the delightful varieties of wildlife found at Lake Nakuru National Park. There are bright pink flamingoes along the lake but also great populations of black rhino, giraffe… even monkey and baboon. But wait until you arrive at our next park, Masai Mara National Reserve to experience quantities and varieties seen nowhere else. The reserve is renowned for its great numbers of lion and other predators

We’ll set out early for the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru Park, stopping to take in the towering majesty of Thompson’s Falls along the way at Nyahururu.
We’ll continue, viewing farm country and driving through the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru Park will bring us up close to a bright assortment of birdlife, including flamingoes, cormorants, pelicans, and kingfishers.
But this park offers so much more – a large population of black rhino, endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, plus zebra, hippo, baboon, waterbuck, hyena, and sometimes lion and cheetah.

Lake Nakuru is known for its robust birdlife so let’s rise early to enjoy the morning birdsong and the wildlife emerging from the night.
We’ll breakfast and depart for the Masai Mara, with stops at scenic vistas along the way.
You can always request your driver/guide to make special stops… or not, depending on your preferences.
We’ll get to the Masai Mara in time for our first game drive over its rolling hills, with picturesque acacia trees adorning the landscape.
While at the Mara, we’ll have plenty of time to track its seemingly endless array of wildlife – keep an eye out for lion as sightings are not uncommon.

Overnight at a safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.
So, we’ll be up early to track that wildlife over hills and savannahs, looking for the big predators but also some of the other 90 species of mammals filling this exciting ecosystem.
The reserve is also home to the Great Migration (July – October), when hordes of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra by the tens of thousands cross over the Mara River into the park on their yearly quest for taller, fresher grasses on which to feed.
We’ll take a picnic lunch at the Mara River, within sight of hippos and crocodiles, and if during the migration season, splendid views of the invading herds crossing into the park, in a sight unmatched anywhere.
Here are some optional activities to enhance your stay at the Mara: Enjoy a visit with the local Maasai people in their nearby village, see their homes, learn about their culture, and perhaps purchase some of their colourful jewelry.
We also offer a pre-dawn hot air balloon safari over the park. This is a not-to-be-missed moment on your tour – imagine viewing the Mara come alive with the new day as the wildlife emerges onto the savannah. Your driver/guide can make all the arrangements.

Our last morning to journey out amongst the wildlife – let’s make the most of it with an early game drive. By now you’re an experienced safari-goer and will better be able to spot the animals.
A final breakfast at our accommodation and we’ll once more hop into our 4 x 4 for a final game drive as we exit the park.
