Next/out-of-Nairobi-daytrips/Amboseli-national-park-daytrip/ up and just as special is Aberdare National Park, set in a lush rainforest, with high waterfalls. Your stay here is in a tree hotel! From your balcony, you’ll be able to view elephant, rhino, buffalo and hyena among the game found in this unique park.
On your way to Ol Pejeta, there will be stops at coffee/tea plantations and markets to experience the local culture. The Conservancy is known for its herds of black rhino and its chimpanzee sanctuary. But also keep an eye out for zebra, cheetah, lion and even wild dogs.
Your holiday safari continues passing scenic Thompson’s Falls and on to Lake Naivasha. Here you’ll take an easy boat ride past hippos, diverse bird life and small game on the shore. Nearby Crescent Island is home to giraffe, zebra, impala, innumerable birds and a fun walking tour amongst the animals. Then we’ll take a unique bicycle safari around Hell’s Gate National Park gliding past grazing giraffe, zebra and antelope.
In direct contrast to the smaller game you’ve just enjoyed, get ready for the big one – or the Big Five as we sometimes say. Your final and perhaps biggest adventure is at the Masai Mara. This vast savannah hosts the widest diversity of wildlife on the tour and indeed in the region. You’ll spend more than two days here soaking up the sights and sounds of this world-famous park.

We’ve seen and experienced a lot this past week, but now it’s time to set our sights for the jewel in the crown of Kenya’s wildlife parks – Masai Mara National Reserve.
We will arrive at the park in time for an afternoon game drive, the first of many here. If you’re seeing great processions of wildebeests and zebra marching through the reserve, you’re most likely here during the migrating season – July through October. That’s when vast herds invade the park, crossing the Mara River in a never-ending search for sustenance.
We’ll picnic by the Mara River, site of the crossing and look for hippos and crocodiles plying the muddy waters.
